Rooftop Patio Liquor License Received

Dear National Club Members,

I am very pleased to announce that The National Club has received both its final building inspection approval and our rooftop liquor license this week. The new elevator has passed inspection as well, and will deliver you from the 4th floor to inside the comfort of the year-round pavilion on the roof. 

New furniture will be arriving early next week, including luxurious leather chairs and teak tables, and as soon as they are set up, we will be ready to start looking after you in style.

Don't let the cold weather fool you - the large enclosed part of our rooftop patio is heated and there's also a cozy fireplace to keep you warm until the Spring finally shows up.

I look forward to seeing you on the roof.

Robbie Burns Supper - January 24th

The National Club is taking reservations now for its Robbie Burns Supper on Friday, January 24th. Assisted by officers of the 78th Fraiser Highlanders and with a full Scottish supper (and a whiskey or two), it promises to be a great night.

Filming at The National Club Tomorrow

On Friday, January 10th the Main Dining Room and the Marconi Lounge will be set aside for the filming of an episode of a new Canadian comedy television series entitled "Working the Engels" starring SCTV alumnus and Broadway star Andrea Martin.
 
There will be some activity in the front lobby in the morning up to 11:30 am and in the afternoon after 2:00 pm but access through the front doors of the Club will still be available. Thanks to our members for their patience.

All other areas in the Club are open for your use.
 
"Working the Engels" stars Andrea Martin and will be broadcast on the Global Network in Canada, and has recently been picked up by NBC in the US.

Just a reminder that the National Club has reopened January 2nd following the holiday.

Year End Buffet - Wednesday Dec. 11th

The National Club's "Year End Buffet" is this Wednesday (Dec. 11th) at 12:30 pm.

It is a fabulous and festive buffet assembled by Executive Chef James Stewart and a chance to meet with members of your Board of Directors for some holiday cheer. Club President Stephen Lautens will make a few (brief) comments about the highlights of 2013 and what is in store for the Club in 2014.

National Club Annual Family Holiday Brunch

This Sunday was The National Club's annual holiday brunch - a great start to the season. The buffet was spectacular and every dining room was full.

Almost 300 people attended, including a special guest - Santa!

Santa may have returned to the North Pole, but you can drop by the Club this month to experience some Christmas cheer.
